For good processing and good advice it is necessary to record data about the client and the agreements. This happens through our client files, where all data about agreements and deals with a client is collected. All client files and the computer database together make a so-called "person registration" system.
(For making and working with "person registration", a distinct law exists in the Netherlands since 1990, the "Wet op de Persoonsregistratie / WPR" law or "Law on Person Registration".)

What is the law on person registration?
The law on person registration deals with the obligations of the person or institution that creates and uses a person registration.

For instance, the obligation exists to create a privacy regulation. DataSpeed has also made such a Privacy regulation and placed it online.

In this regulation, we describe exactly how DataSpeed handles written and digital data from and about clients, how this data is stored, how it is secured and who has access to this data.

Privacy regulation and client rights
If anyone registers at the DataSpeed site or by mail/e-mail, DataSpeed almost instantly begins with recording the data. Apart from the notification that data is recorded and stored, a client must also know what his/her rights are with regard to this data. For this, DataSpeed considers the generally accepted client rights.
Mainly the following rights are relevant:
1. The right to access the data
The client that wants to access his data, can file a request with DataSpeed, DataSpeed then makes sure the clients' desire is attended to on short notice.

2.  The right to correction of factual inaccuracies
If the client feels that factual inaccuracies exist in his file, the client has the right to correct these data.

3. The right to a copy of the data
A client can receive a copy of his file data if needed; the costs of such a copy will not be over €10.00.

4. The right to grant permission for providing data to third parties.
Data from the file of a client can only be provided to third parties (persons or institutions outside DataSpeed) if the client has given its written express consent; this holds for the duration of file storage both during and after the deals or agreements.
